2010 Wally World Blaster Box Event Upper Deck Vs. Topps

Today I stopped by my local Wally World and picked up 1 box of series 1 2010 Topps & Upper Deck. They are both priced at $19.99 and contain 10 packs with 8 cards. Lets see which one has more bang for there buck.

Red Corner
2010 Topps Series 1

Blue Corner
2010 Upper Deck Series 1

Round 1 (Base Cards)
Topps: 39
Upper Deck: 66
Winner: UD (Photos are extremely nice + you get more cards toward completing your set.)

Round 2 (Parallels)
Topps: 10 Black & 1 Gold
Upper Deck: 0
Winner: Topps (By a landslide really shocked there were no parallels of any type in UD)

Round 3 (Over Done Inserts)
Topps: 10
Upper Deck: 0
Winner: UD (No one wants Topps Town cards)

Round 4 (Retro Inserts)
Topps: 2 (Turkey Red)
Upper Deck: 2 (Portraits)
Winner: Topps (This one was close but I like the Turkey Red better)

Round 5 (Rest of the Inserts)
Topps: 18
Upper Deck: 10
Winner: Topps (You get more inserts in Topps including cool ones like Lineage, Peak Performance & Million Cards. UD has cool die-cut but there were to a few and I thought all the flames were individually cut and there not.)

Final Round 6 (Hit)
Topps: Relic Patch (Orlando Cepeda)
Upper Deck: Game Used Jersey (Nick Markakis)
Winner: Topps (Patch looks extremely cool / Jersey is so small)

THE WINNER of 2010 Series Blaster box is TOPPS!!!

  1. Man, I am drooling over those die-cut cards, just like the 90's...it looks like UD really does listen to the blogs, but what is with those ugly celebraty prediction cards? They look like those hideous presidential cards from 08 UD

  2. I like the Topps better, but the UD is much better than in years past. If you would like to trade the Markakis Jersey, I would love to have it, just let me know what you want.

  3. Ya, can't really go wrong with the guaranteed patch cards in Topps. I love the presentation on those cards.
